Delightful storybook cottage and village

We have just spent the most wonderful week at the Three Pound Cottage. It felt like we stepped back in time to a better place and simpler life. Childhood memories returned for my English husband with a corner shop, pub and church on the doorstop. For me, an Aussie, it was everything I had imagined and more! All the locals made us feel very welcome. We spent a lot time in the Cleave pub which is virtually next door. The food was tasty, fresh and the service outstanding and dogs are welcome too which we don’t have in Australia. I loved hearing the church bells ringing and popping into the Dairy every day for a chat with the owners and to pick up supplies and old fashioned sweets! Morning or afternoon tea is delicious at the Primrose Tea rooms. Deer, squirrels, rabbits, horses and even friendly cats can be seen from the gorgeous cottage windows every day. The cottage itself is simply delightful. 4 adults can be accommodated easily. Comfortable beds and lounge furniture. The gorgeous little front garden and sun trap was perfect for a family get together with my English cousins. Fully equiped kitchen and bathrooms. Quiet location next to a pathway that takes you to another storybook village. Thank you Michaela and Brian for the opportunity to stay in this cottage, all the local information and for the welcome hamper, yum!

Dear Linda and Andrew - we are so thrilled you had a wonderful stay at Three Pound Cottage and thank you for leaving such a kind review. We do hope that we can welcome you back again sometime in the future, with very best wishes, Michaela and Brian x

Wonderful stay

What an amazing week we had at your beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds, lovely views, and pretty walks through the orchard into the woods with streams, we also went up the lane to see some beautiful thatched cottages. There is so much to see and do not too far from the cottage, and the pub serves gorgeous meals. Thank you Michaela and Brian for the delicious cake, milk tea etc, we had wonderful weather and really enjoyed staying in your cottage.

We enjoyed a second lovely visit to the cottage. As before, it was charming, cosy and comfortable and a great base for exploring this wonderful part of Britain! We appreciated the range of information thoughtfully provided, including the walks leaflets and eating-place suggestions. We look forward to the next time!

We loved staying in this really delightful thatched cottage in its charming village setting! It's obvious that a lot of care and attention has been given to ensuring an enjoyable and comfortable stay - and the cream tea and wine awaiting us made a lovely welcome. Lovely cottage and great week

We had a great week with our three boys in 3 pound cottage. Idyllic walks out the house, boat trips and the seaside on other days. The cottage is fully equipped and immaculate, we could not have asked for more. The owners were great and we are looking forward to returning.

It sounds like you and your boys had an idyllic holiday in Devon, from walks to boat trips, sounds wonderful! We look forward to welcoming you back again soon, and this time you must try Dragon Archery - its one of our favourite things to do :-). We very much look forward to welcoming you back to the cottage in the future, Brian and Michaela x

Amazing Stay

Wonderful cottage and the most fully equipped we have ever stayed at. Having a Chef as a partner he always wants to take away our entire kitchen as he cant live without certain utensils. On this occasion we didn't need to. Beautiful location and will defiantly come and stay again. Loved the peace and quiet. Local shop was very well stocked and not too expensive. Only used the pub for drinks but again a lovely old building. We stayed away with our 4 Year old and loved the fact there was kiddy plates and cutlery as well. The Kids play park behind the shop was also great but we were out most days anyway. You have made the cottage feel like a home away form home, thank you.

Hi Sarah Thank you so much for your lovely review, we are really pleased you found everything you needed at the cottage :-). We very much look forward to welcoming you all back again soon x

Spring time in Lustleigh

Another wonderful time at Three Pound Cottage - what's not to like abut this little Gem in Lustleigh! This was our 7th visit, however the first time in May where we have enjoyed the glorious walks around The Cleave and beyond, and especially the wonderful bird song, flora etc. We absolutely love the cottage which is so well-equipped and comfortable (and cosy) even when we visit to see the New Year in! 5 Christmas stars for Three Pound Cottage

We spent Christmas 2018 in this delightful cottage. We cooked a lovely Christmas dinner in the well equipped kitchen. Then after a bracing walk was had exploring the amazing countryside close by. Finished the day off snuggled up cosy infront of the log fire.. bliss.
The local pub close by The Cleave was extremely welcoming and food very good ....but need to book in advance. Lustleigh is a village positioned on the moor with great access to Tors and the local town Bovey Tracey for supplies.
We will definitely be booking again this is the best cottage on the moors we have found to; rewind charge your batteries and escape from lifes constant stresses ...
Thank you for the use of your home
